Infrastructure and data centres

The infrastructure the whole organisation runs on should not be pieced together from five suppliers.

We design, supply and operate IT environments as a whole: servers, disk arrays and networks; virtualisation on Proxmox VE, Hyper-V and VMware including migrations; monitoring with technical support in P1–P4 priorities; and cyber security including identity protection. What we deploy, we also operate and train on — Qintec is Proxmox Training Partner. References from state institutions to the academic sector.

Hardware, servers and technical infrastructure

Supply and implementation of servers, disk arrays, network switches and WiFi. We work with established enterprise hardware brands and design solutions according to the real needs of the operation — from a single server to highly available clusters.

Virtualisation and Proxmox

Design, supply and installation of Proxmox VE with trained staff — including migrations from VMware, Hyper-V and XCP-ng and setting up backup. Migration from VMware → · Proxmox training →

We build virtualisation environments on the Hyper-V, VMware vSphere and Proxmox VE platforms — including highly available and stretched metro clusters. Backup is handled with defined RTO/RPO through Veeam Backup & Replication or Proxmox Backup Server, with backup copies to disk arrays and tape libraries. We also carry out migrations between platforms, including the move from VMware to Proxmox VE.

Platforms What we do on each of them

  • a cluster without a master node, guarantees high availability
  • backup via Proxmox Backup Server
  • we are a certified training partner — we train what we deploy

We deploy and we migrate. The most common target when moving from VMware.

Monitoring and technical support

Two types of monitoring, clearly separated: here we deal with monitoring infrastructure — availability of servers, networks, applications and data centre operation. Monitoring of production and technology (OEE, sensors, energy) is the same one you will find in the division Systems for industry and services. Support runs on a priority model P1–P4

Monitoring of data centres (circuit breakers, UPS, air conditioning, temperatures), monitoring of operations and equipment at the customer's site, and technical support with servicing. The scope of support and the response times are agreed in the service contract according to how critical the operation is.

Technical support

Not every problem is an emergency

We manage support at four priority levels. The scope, service hours and response times are agreed in the service contract according to how critical the operation is — the priority model is the same, the limits are yours.

Cyber security

The flagship topic is protection of identities and privileged access — including environments where native MFA cannot be deployed (legacy and OT systems).

Within the division, cyber security is split into two subcategories. The first protects accounts that already exist; the second determines who has which access rights in the systems.

Subcategory 01

Identity and privileged access protection

Defence of existing accounts against misuse — from Active Directory to suppliers' service accounts.

  • MFA for legacy and OT as wellSecond-factor verification even for systems where native MFA cannot be deployed — with no agents and no changes to the protected system.
  • Privileged and service accountsRecords, restriction and control of administrator and service accounts, including supplier access.
  • Active Directory monitoringMonitoring of sign-ins and privileged operations — an overview of who actually signs in where.
  • Assessment of the current state before deploymentA stocktake of identities and privileged access. The output is an overview of risks and a proposal of measures with priorities.

Subcategory 02

Identity and access management

Who has which access rights in which system — and who gave them. We design and deploy this in the systems we build, on an open platform from our own stack.

  • Single sign-onOne sign-in to all modules of the system instead of a separate password for each of them.
  • Rights by rolePermissions are tied to a job role, not to a particular person. When someone changes position, the role changes.
  • Account lifecycleCreating, changing and revoking access from joining to leaving — including a record of who granted the right.
  • Connection to an existing directoryTaking over users from Active Directory or LDAP, if the organisation operates them.

Frequently asked questions about infrastructure

How does migration from VMware to Proxmox VE work?
We start with an assessment of the environment and a plan for migration in stages so that operation continues. We have carried out a complete migration of a state institution's virtualisation environment from VMware to Proxmox VE, including moving the backup to Proxmox Backup Server.
What backup do you recommend?
One that has a defined RTO and RPO — that is, how quickly and to what point you can get back. We deploy both Veeam Backup & Replication and Proxmox Backup Server, with backup copies to disk arrays and tape libraries.
Do you also supply the hardware itself?
Yes — servers, disk arrays, network switches and WiFi. For example, we have carried out the implementation of an HPE Alletra disk array and the supply of Cisco network components for a university environment.
How does technical support work after deployment?
We agree the scope of support, service hours and response times individually in a service contract or an SLA, according to how critical the operation is.
Will you also take care of operational monitoring?
Yes. We supply data centre monitoring (UPS, air conditioning, circuit breakers, temperatures) as well as monitoring of operations and equipment at the customer's site with real-time visualisation.

Are you planning to renew your infrastructure?

We will assess the current state and propose a solution — from hardware to backup and monitoring.
